Based on best practices followed by international orgnisations and research consulting firms, we follow a highly structured research execution approach for every project.
In order to further strengthen the exchange of knowledge between members, affiliates and partners, the Department of Economic Affairs & Research of ISSME has developed the following projects:
The primary objective of these projects is to complement the expertise and strength of high quality research groups in advanced areas of SMEs.
This involves:
- Research on a current topic from any field of SMEs
- At least one subject matter expert each from both sides who function as Principal Collaborators
- Joint Collaborators (2-3) on the other side are welcome, but their contributions to the project may be clearly defined
The objective is to promote the development of new processes or products or the improvement of existing processes or products. This increases the competitiveness of the small business partners at the international level.
This sees partnerships with more than one member, affiliate and partner or one research institution.
This may involve:
- Development of process, product or design
- Translation of R&D lead into a commercialisable product
- Joint R&D development for small business application
The approach to such projects is based on detailed guidelines developed after extensive discussions between the ISSME, its members, affiliates and partners. The partners of the small business research projects are expected to enter into an Agreement before the project commences.
