A C Jose

Mr. A. C. Jose, who was born in 1937, is a former parliamentarian from Kerala Province of India. A lawyer by profession, Mr. Jose has very rich experience of over 50 years and has held many important positions. He played a dominant role in the formation of Kerala Students Union. From 1969 to 1979 he was a Councillor in the Cochin City Corporation and in 1972 he was elected as Mayor of the Corporation. He was elected Member to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1980 and served as Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1982. He was elected as Member of Parliament in the 1996, 1998, 1999 general elections, serving in the 11th, 12th and 13th Lok Sabha of India. He was the Chairman of Coir Board and was member of various Government Committees. He was Member, Committee on External Affairs for two terms. While he was in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, had nominated him as member of the Board of Trade, the ministry’s highest policy-making body. He was some time Chief Editor and is now the Managing Director of Veekshanam Daily. He was Chairperson of Inter-Governmental Group of FAO on Hard Fibres which functions under the United Nations Organisation and was the first Indian to hold this position. A voracious reader and well-known orator in English, he has led trade unions in almost all major industries in Kerala and was the Founder President of Building and Road Workers’ Federation.
Mr. Jose took Office of the President in late 2011; he was unanimously re-elected for twice by the Council at its 2nd Session held in May 2012 and 3rd Session held in June 2014.
Mr. Jose passed away in Kochi, Kerala province of India on Saturday (January 23, 2016) morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 79 years old. Mr. Jose is survived by his wife Prof. Leelamma Jose and four children.

Sunil D. Sharma

Mr. Sunil D Sharma, born in 1977, is currently the Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of ISSME. He played the leading role in the establishment of ISSME. An MBA and a Post-Graduate in Sociology, Mr. Sharma is a knowledgeable and multi-faceted personality and is well versed with the working, management, applicable laws and rules & regulations of both national as well as international Non-Government Organisations. An energetic and dynamic personality, Mr. Sharma has participated in number of local, national, regional, and international conferences as well as concerned UN agencies programmes and other events throughout the globe on SME related issues.
Ever since he took up the reins of ISSME as Secretary General in 2011, Mr. Sharma fine-tuned its activities to meet SMEs’ varied new demands emanating from emerging world economic scenario. He has sought to give voice to the world’s small business community. He has over 15 years of experience in studying the development as well as industrial sector, particularly the issues related to small business development, identifying business opportunities and articulating the concerns and interest of SMEs at different forums. Prior to his association in ISSME, he had gained extensive experiences by working with private sector, industry association, and international non-governmental organisations at senior positions and gained hands on experience in promoting and development of SMEs. He has extensive knowledge and practical experience in setting up units based on alternate and environment-friendly technologies, use of ICT tools, etc. He has widely travelled within India and visited several countries on official business like United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Romania, Austria, Ireland, Turkey, UAE, Korea, Swaziland, Botswana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Hungary, Germany, etc.
