BEWARE OF SCAMS IMPLYING ASSOCIATION WITH THE ISSME

It has been brought to our notice that correspondences have been received by people via e-mail, from Internet web sites, and through regular mail or fax, falsely stating that they have been issued by, or in association with the ISSME and/or its officials. ISSME wishes to make it clear that such correspondences, which may seek to obtain money and/or in many cases personal details from the recipients, are fraudulent in nature.

The ISSME wishes to warn the public against falling prey to such fraudulent activities being perpetrated purportedly in the name of the organisation, and/or its officials. Please do bring any suspect communications to our attention immediately.

Please note that:

  • The ISSME does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment process (application, interview, processing, training or any other fee).
  • The ISSME does not request any information related to bank accounts or other private information as part of its activities.
  • The ISSME does not offer prizes, awards, funds, scholarships, certificates, or conduct lotteries through e-mail, mail or fax.

The recipients of solicitations such as those described above are requested to exercise extreme caution.

Doing so could lead to a financial loss and/or identity theft. If you have been the victim of such a scam, you may also approach the local law enforcement authorities for action.

Please send us an e-mail query at: pr@issmemail.org before taking any further action in relation to the correspondence if you have doubts about the authenticity of an e-mail, letter or telephone communication purportedly from, for, or on behalf of the ISSME and/or its officials.
